Nice Guy Johnny

I saw this Edward Burns movie at the Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival and I loved it. Burns crafted his most comical film to date with the sweet, often surprising charmer, NICE GUY JOHNNY. I won’t ruin it for you and give you every detail but here is a quick overview. Johnny is a sports-talk jock on a small west coast am radio station and loves his fiance Claire. She wants him start making some real money and uses her families connections in NY to get him an job interview. He flies back to NY and meets up with his Uncle Terry(Burns) and all hell breaks loose. Terry wants Johnny to live on the edge and play the field. Terry sets up a meeting with some girls(Brooke) in the Hamptons and Johnny does not go for it. He hates his uncle and wants nothing to do with him or his lifestyle. He wants to leave and go back to the city. He loves his Claire and that is it. Turns out Claire is a pain in his ass but he still walks the straight line. Even after spending some time with Brooke in the Hamptons he is true to his Claire. Johnny now starts a tug of war with himself over what he should do with is life. The movie goes on like this until the end. This is where I stop, all I will say is that Johnny comes out on top. Great writing and camera work. The best part is that it was made for $25,000 like Burns other 1995 movie Brothers McMullen that won the best movie at Sundance that year. The movie comes out on DVD, itunes, Netflix and VOD October 26. Check it out you will like it. Here is the trailer Ed and Aaron put together for the movie.
